Straight out of the bureaucracy of UNFPA in Sri Lanka, I was thrown into the most hands-on job I have ever imagined. One should be careful what one asks for...

 

The presidential election in Afghanistan was tricky, but nothing compared to the provincial. I started out in Badghis as logistics officer (above), but am now head of office in the desert province of Nimroz (below).

 

When in a hard environment, make reality soft.
